Each year at this time, we celebrate three amazing days. How long does it take for us to live that span of time? And yet, the scope of their existence reaches back to a garden and a future that cannot be calculated. It involves life as it was first created, death and a whole new re-created life. The process is a complicated one, a mystery that was solved in precise and methodical stages. God is complex, but asks us to receive His truths with humble hearts. Let’s look closely at the three days of time and the three words that are significantly expressed in them.
Life - property of humans to take in food, receive energy from it, adapt to their surroundings and reproduce after their own kind
Death - permanent ending of all life
Resurrection - a rising from the dead, or coming back to life
Genesis 2:7 says “Then the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit; of life and man became a living being."
This was an amazing display of love and creativity. But there entered an element of disobedience which disrupted the perfect setting for man and introduced sin, death and division between God and man. Man created a devastating problem but God came to the rescue to solve it. He sent His Son to restore the division that took place in a garden. But it was going to be at a great price - the price of His Own life.
Philippians 2:8 says, “And after He appeared in human form He abased and humbled Himself (still further) and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross
Jesus said that He would pay the price for our restoration back to Him, but in doing so, it would be as though we had died. We would receive the reward as if we had died too. Try to figure that one out. How could One die for another, the first One dying for the second and the second receiving forgiveness as though he had done nothing wrong. It is not justice as we know it today, but it is called grace as God knows it in His heart. Not only did Jesus die, but we are recipients of all He paid for free and clear. It sounds too good to be true - but He said that He was the way, the truth and the life no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.
Galatians 2:20 says “I have been crucified with Christ - (In Him), I have shared His crucifixion; it is no longer I who live, but Christ the Messiah, lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith - by adherence to and reliance and (complete) trust - in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
Three amazing days - a day of death, a day in the grave and a day of resurrection. It was all done for love of mankind.
GOD’S AMAZING GRACE
We were all given the gift of life - to breathe,
think and feel But a thief, a horrible crook broke in to kill, destroy and steal.
My mind, my body and even my will were beaten,
attacked and left alone.I lay dead - totally still.
Time passed - the pain would never end.
Is there anyone that could take my body and heart and cause them to mend?
What has been done to me by others and what I have done to me,
I am too ashamed for anyone else to ever see.
If there is a God in heaven, I have no right to even look up,
But if You’re there, could you give me water, even from a litte cup?
An answer soon came much faster than my own thought.
It’s already done, your new life and healing has already been bought.
I sent My Son long before you even knew,
That a sacrifice was needed - a payment was due.
The cost was more than anyone could pay
So He was sent to pay a price that could even make a way.
The day He died, His followers said, this is truly the end.
But three days later, He appeared and said, You are My friend.
As much as He provided new life Resurrection Day,
He said, I am the life, the truth and the way.
I didn’t do a thing, He said just believe.
He had done it all, He said just receive.
He said old things have passed away and now have become new.
I resigned myself - He did it all, just accept was all I could do.
The complexity and mystery of His great plan Is available to every child, woman and man.
What Jesus did those precious days can never be fully told.
He gave me new life and died for what was old.
Receive what Jesus did for you so that you will be one with Him. He in you and you in Him
HE IS RISEN HE IS RISEN INDEED
A very lovely reminder of Father's GRACE. Thank you Karen.
