LIFE IN PICTURES - You Are Never Alone

I was enjoying a cup of tea one winter morning while looking through my doorwall window. The

snow appeared brilliant as the sun created contrasting black shadows of leafless trees across the lawn. I stepped out the door and could hardly believe how such beauty could be engulfed in such brutal cold. I would like to have stayed out to touch the snow and become part of the distinct shadows, but immediately I retreated back into the house, picked up my rewarmed tea and was grateful for an overstuffed couch and a hot beverage.

The above picture reminded me of visions that we all experience. When we consider our future, there is a tendency to see hope and excitement. Everything tends to be somewhat flawless, and if we anticipate problems, we also dream of ways we can easily solve them. No big deal. Our visions are so great, and we hope they become solid stone in place of hapless fantasies. There is no stopping us.

No matter how flawless our visions appear in our minds, the truth is that there are people that drive through the pure white snow with their dirty tires and others who believe it would be better if they could offer their own additions and begin shovelling pathways, Then the sun goes down, swallowing up all shadows and the air becomes even colder. Not only that, but when we look for shelter in familiar places, we find that doors are locked and there is no place to regain any form of normalcy. How will we ever survive in this new place that looked so hopeful just a short time ago?

It matters not what your vision is, the principles are the same. The gammat of the highest joy and promise can be replaced in an instant with the deepest despair. Many years ago, there was a group of people that was in desperate conditions of captivity with no hope. God had chosen them to be His Own and made a promise to them. This is what He said, Fear not; there is nothing to fear, for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties; yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with my victorious right hand of righteousness and justice. Isaiah 41:10. If you call God Father, then He makes the same promise to you.

Flames of visions come in all sizes - from organizing a closet, making a long-overdue phone call or starting your own business. Has God put a vision in your heart that cannot be fulfilled apart from Him, but is sitting on a back burner that can no longer be seen? I would like to fan the flames of the fire that God placed within you by reminding you of what He promised. He said that He began a good work in you and will continue to develop, perfect and bring it to full completion in you. Phil. 1:6.

Where are you in this scenario? Are you sitting on a cushy couch drinking your favorite beverage, but not making a move? Have you gotten up from your comfort and find yourself outside enjoying the freshness of the outdoors, or has the sun set on your vision and the doors of security are locked? It just doesn’t matter where you are, your Father is there to see you through to the finish.

YOU ARE NEVER ALONE ...... Amen!
